About Luxin

Who is Luxin?

Luxin makes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration modules for BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi. We operate mostly in the United States and the United Kingdom, shipping worldwide from local warehouses. The company is operated by LUXIN MB, a registered company founded by Augustinas Balsys. Our modules work behind the car's original factory screen - nothing in the interior gets replaced.

Is Luxin a legitimate company?

Yes. Luxin is operated by LUXIN MB, a company registered in Lithuania, with more than 500 modules delivered to customers in the US, UK and Europe. Our customers review us publicly on Trustpilot, where we hold a 4.5 out of 5 rating. Every order includes a 30-day money-back trial and a 2-year warranty, extendable to 3 years with the Complete kit.

Where does Luxin ship from?

US orders ship from our US warehouse. UK and European orders ship from our European warehouse. Shipping is free worldwide, every order is tracked, and most customers receive their module within a few business days.

How is a Luxin module different from replacing the screen?

Aftermarket touchscreens replace your factory head unit. A Luxin module doesn't. It installs behind your original display, and CarPlay appears on that screen alongside your factory menus. Your iDrive controller, MMI dial, COMAND controls, steering wheel buttons, cameras and sensors all keep working exactly as before. Nothing is cut, nothing is coded, fully reversible - the car keeps its factory interior and its resale value.

What do customers say?

A BMW owner in the UK wrote that the care and support he received before his module even arrived were on a level he had rarely witnessed - and that we were a WhatsApp message away helping his technician during the install. A customer in Indianapolis with a 2017 BMW X4 M40i was walked through a setup fix over the phone instead of being sent back to his mechanic, and described the communication and patience as far exceeding his expectations.

Ordering, delivery & returns

When will I receive my order?

Orders are processed and shipped within 24 hours. US and Australia: 3-5 business days. UK: 1-3. Europe: 2-4. Shipping is free worldwide.

Will this work with my car?

Each module is built for specific systems: BMW CIC, NBT and NBT EVO, Mercedes-Benz NTG 4.5, NTG 5.0 and later COMAND, and Audi MMI 3G, MMI Navigation and RMC. Fitment depends on your exact model, year and infotainment version - use the compatibility checker on the product page, or message us your model and year and we'll confirm it before you order.

Is installation difficult?

No. Everything is plug and play and most installs take about 60 minutes - factory connectors behind the screen, no coding, no wire cutting. A full guide is included, and we help over WhatsApp if you get stuck, including talking directly to your installer. Prefer not to DIY? Any local automotive electronics specialist can fit it.

What if I change my mind or it doesn't work?

Every order has a 30-day money-back trial - test it in your own car and send it back for a full refund if it's not right. Products carry a 2-year warranty as standard, 3 years with the Complete kit.

How does Luxin ensure quality?

Every module is sourced from specialist automotive electronics manufacturers and tested for compatibility before dispatch. We only stock hardware that works reliably - not the cheapest option available.

Why choose Luxin over cheaper alternatives?

Cheap alternatives use generic adapters that never fully integrate with the car. Ours run through your existing display exactly as factory - with real support from real people, a 2-year warranty and 30-day returns behind it.

Apple CarPlay & Android Auto

What's in the box?

The module, a plug and play wiring harness, and a full installation guide - everything needed for the install. Trim removal tools are included with the Complete kit.

Which cables do I need to connect?

The main power harness and LVDS video cable are always required. AUX and microphone cables are only needed if your car doesn't support Bluetooth audio. Camera cables are optional, for aftermarket cameras only.

How do I set up audio?

If your car supports Bluetooth audio: in module Setup, select "Use Car's Bluetooth channel", then connect your phone to the car's Bluetooth as normal. If it doesn't: select AUX as the audio source on your system and audio plays through the speakers automatically from then on.

How do I connect my phone?

Open Bluetooth on your phone and connect to the device named CAR***. Confirm the CarPlay or Android Auto prompt. From then on your phone reconnects automatically every start, usually within 5-10 seconds.

How do I switch between the original system and CarPlay?

Hold the MENU or BACK button, or a steering wheel button depending on your vehicle. Switching is instant, and your original menus stay exactly where they were.

Will my original controls and functions work?

Yes - steering wheel controls, factory menus, HUD, Bluetooth, radio, parking sensors and cameras all remain fully functional. The module integrates without removing or replacing anything.

Will my rear-view camera still work?

Yes. If the camera doesn't appear after installation: Settings → Reverse → select "Original" for factory cameras or "Aftermarket" for aftermarket ones.

Can I still use FM / AM / CD while CarPlay is running?

Yes - CarPlay still displays on screen, but its audio won't play while FM, AM or CD is the audio source. Switch to Bluetooth or AUX to hear CarPlay sound.

Will CarPlay navigation show in my instrument cluster?

No - CarPlay runs on the main infotainment display, so Google Maps or Waze appear there. Your instrument cluster keeps working exactly as before with the car's built-in navigation. This is a CarPlay limitation on every vehicle, including cars that came with CarPlay from the factory.

Does it work with my iPhone or Android?

Yes - all iPhones on iOS 9 or later and all Android devices on Android 11 or later.
